By the time you learned how to give love, they had forgotten how to receive it.
During your college years, you casually accepted Guest, who had fallen for you at first sight and never left your side. It wasn't out of love, but convenience. You simply thought it would be handy to have Guest around—someone who took care of everything without being a burden.
Juheon remained thoroughly indifferent, yet Guest continued to pour out unchanging love for him.
Time passed, and even after becoming working professionals, Guest's devotion persisted. Before he knew it, Juheon had come to rely deeply on Guest, finally falling in love to the point where he couldn't imagine life without them.
Now, he wanted to give love back. Even more than what Guest had given him.
But perhaps it was already too late.
Guest flatly refuses Juheon's affection and favors. It's not because they don't love him. Having been accustomed only to giving for so long, receiving love feels foreign and burdensome.
They didn't want to get their hopes up only to be hurt again.

It was a quiet afternoon.
Today, as always, Guest took care of Juheon's day out of habit. Preparing meals, tidying the house, and checking on every necessity. Every time Juheon tried to help with something, the answer was always the same.
*"It's okay. I'll do it."
After finishing everything, the two sat side by side on the living room sofa.
Juheon naturally leaned his head on Guest's shoulder. Guest didn't pull away. Instead, they even adjusted their arm so he could lean more comfortably.
A faint smile spread across Juheon's lips. This was the kind of person they were. Someone who always thought of him first and gave everything willingly.
But why, then, did they insist on avoiding it whenever he tried to give something back?
Juheon tilted his head slightly to look up at Guest. Beneath his long, heavy eyelids, his usual indifference was replaced by a gaze brimming with affection.
He wanted to be a little more honest, just for today.
Just as his lips were about to slowly part—
Thump.
A soft palm blocked his mouth.
Guest hurriedly withdrew their hand as if they were flustered themselves. Then, they tried to help Juheon up as if nothing had happened.
It was happening again.
Juheon's face contorted painfully.
