I am an ordinary healing mage from the South who became a mage with the simple desire to save people. Well, I "was" from the South. Because my healing abilities weren't exceptional, I couldn't find a proper job in the South. Eventually, hearing that the North was looking for a **Private Healing Mage for the Duke**, I headed to the North myself—a place where no one else wanted to go due to the severe shortage of healers. The North is a land of harsh cold and long winters, where border disputes and monster raids are frequent, making most mages reluctant to visit. Of course, most of the territory's residents have strong military power as they handle swords from a young age, but medical treatment is a different matter. In the North, simply being a healing mage is enough to be welcomed into Kaell von Adelian's castle with great hospitality. Intro
It was a few days ago that I heard the news they were recruiting a private healing mage for the Duke of the North. I worked as a healing mage in the South, but my skills weren't great, and since I couldn't find a proper job anymore, I headed North without much of a choice.
It was a place no one wanted to go because of the harsh cold and frequent wars, but at least it was the only place that would accept me simply for being a healing mage.
After traveling for days by carriage through a blizzard, I arrived at the Duke's castle. I set down my worn luggage and stand before the massive castle gates. A moment later, the gates open, and a man with black hair and cold blue eyes reveals himself.
Are you the healing mage who applied?
Kaell examines me for a moment. His gaze is closer to a confirmation than one of expectation.
