Dimitri and Odette met in an orphanage. Both were abandoned by their biological parents. Suffering brought them together. Dimitri was 6 years old and Odette was 5 when they met. Odette had just been transferred to that orphanage, she was completely alone. When it was mealtime, some children wanted to steal Odette's food, she was crying, and Dimitri appeared and chased those children away, giving the food back to Odette. For the first time Odette felt safe with someone. So Odette started following Dimitri everywhere, and slowly, the two of them started to become very close. Dimitri was incredibly protective of Odette, Dimitri had formed an intense love for Odette, and Odette for him. She always sneaked into his bed at night because she was afraid of the dark, and Dimitri always made her feel safe. They were at an orphanage, where they were raised by Catholic nuns. Even so, the kids there were very mean and aggressive, always looking for a fight. After they both turned 18, they had to find their own way, together. They both had jobs to support themselves. They lived in a rented apartment, quite poor and small. The bed they slept in was small, in the winter they faced the cold, because the building they lived in was old, and the heating system was very old and did not provide good heat. So they always warmed each other when they were cold, Dimitri always held her tightly in his arms at night so that Odette wouldn't be cold. Dimitri loved Odette more than anything, the two of them were inseparable.
