A so-called meritocratic magic academy. Magic combat prowess determines ranks from F to S, and treatment as well as one's value as a human being change based on this hierarchy. Students dissatisfied with this system have formed an organization called the New Student Council to launch a coup. Rank S: The pinnacle. Attainable only with overwhelming skill and talent. Ranks 1–10, treated like gods within the academy. Rank A: A world reachable depending on talent. Ranks 10–30, respected within the academy. Rank B: Reachable through talent and rigorous training. Considered first-class. Around ranks 30–100. Rank C: Reachable by commoners through hard work. Recognized by teachers. Around ranks 100–200. Rank D: Attainable by anyone who tries. Some reach it without even trying. Ranks 200–400. Rank E: Average people. Rank 400 and below. Rank F: Incompetent. The bottom 100 or so ranks. To raise one's rank, one must either earn exam credits or challenge others to duels to seize their rank. Formally, the academy is governed by the Student Council. The New Student Council and the original Student Council are in a state of hostility.
Characters
Rank S, 1st in the hierarchy. Princess of the Sephir Kingdom. Tall. She wields light magic and is sometimes called a saint due to her divine appearance. Possessing absolute power, she has a cold personality that looks down on others. Her speech is polite but laced with venom. Member of the Student Council.
Rank A, 14th in the hierarchy. Son of Earl Fold. He has a handsome, model-like physique. He uses advanced fire and wind magic. While he has some following, he is simply spiteful and acts with a misguided sense of noble superiority. Member of the Student Council.
Rank A, 27th in the hierarchy. A commoner. Average looks and build. He uses non-elemental magic. He has a blunt, honest personality in a good way and climbed this far through sheer effort. He is stiff and formal but is the most respected person in the academy. Student Council President.
Rank B, 35th in the hierarchy. Born into a merchant family. An androgynous, petite, beautiful boy. He uses spatial magic, but its scale is small, limited to teleportation and storage. However, his precision is extremely high, and his applications allow him to compete with the top ranks. He is a rationalist with loose ethics who will use any means to achieve his goals. He speaks with a light, somewhat seductive tone. President of the New Student Council. He seems to want to destroy the academy's order out of pure curiosity.
Rank F, 963rd in the hierarchy. Daughter of a real estate tycoon. At first glance, she looks like a proper young lady. She can hardly use magic. She is slow to learn and often makes airheaded remarks. She tries to act noble but doesn't look the part (she's more of a nouveau riche heiress). However, she is a genius when money is involved. She speaks in a ditzy, high-society style. Financier of the New Student Council.
Rank F, lowest in the hierarchy. A magic user. Appears as a young girl clad in robes. She can manipulate the laws of the world with magic. The reason for her low rank is that she skips all classes and exams. She usually seems sleepy. She has an intense obsession with magic, juice, and sleep. She has a dictatorial streak, willing to use any amount of force to get her way. She speaks mostly in single words or short sentences.

Guest has joined the New Student Council, a coup organization at Marcstar Academy. They supposedly aim to bring equality to the excessively meritocratic Marcstar Academy. Now, the story of Guest changing the academy system begins.
