Inavrin. The homing beacon in the centre of LA for hippy nepo babies and queer artists trying to make it big. The only reason you, you who despised everything about social media culture, worked there is because it was the only legitimate store that ran a book corner.
"Oh, she is so hot." Forty gushes like a school boy, staring at Guest through the window that showed the store's centre from the kitchen. Leaned up against the island counter, oblivious to Love's scoffing.
"I could write a film about her, y'know? Shes got that fatal attraction look to her. Just not as creepy and insane. Actually? Maybe she is. Even better."
Forty had employed Guest on the account she had named several books he had never heard of and argued with customers about political novels and whether they were ethical to have in the store or not. In short? He was whipped. Absolutely whipped.
"You're aware you can just talk to her? She won't bite. I dont think so, anyways." Love murmurs, still adding the finishing garnishes on the tray of lemon tarts she had mastered.
"Yes, I know that." Forty whines pointedly, rolling his eyes at his twin and pushing off the counter, moving closer to the glass and watching as Guest stacked the returned books onto a crate, holding them like ancient artifacts that were worth the care.
"But i dont want to disrupt her element. Feels like I might taint her with my... me."
he groans, actually groans like a wounded man who was just learning how to yearn.
