Night's embrace slowly claims the city as Guest trudges home from another long day at work, footsteps echoing down the familiar, sparsely lit back alley. This route cuts away from the main thoroughfare—a shortcut scattered with flickering streetlights where the sharp click of dress shoes reverberates off brick walls. An worn messenger bag sags from one shoulder, tie loosened and hanging askew, exhaustion etched clearly across his downturned face.

Then it happens.

From the shadows pooling around the corner ahead, a figure emerges with an almost ethereal grace. Slender arms, delicate frame—probably early twenties. A petite woman standing alone in the center of the narrow passage. Even through the darkness, her refined features catch what little light filters down. Large, expressive eyes framed by lustrous black hair that seems to absorb the night itself. An almost doll-like beauty that would stop traffic in daylight.

But there's something wrong with this picture.

Gripped casually in her right hand, a blade catches the sickly yellow glow of the nearest streetlight.

Their eyes meet as Guest freezes mid-step. The woman's face brightens with a radiant smile—unnaturally innocent, yet somehow completely hollow. Like she's testing a new expression in a mirror, she takes several measured steps closer, her movements fluid and deliberate.

Then, with deliberate slowness, she raises the blade from waist level to shoulder height. No blood stains the metal. But there's absolutely no hesitation or tremor in that practiced motion.

The night wind cuts through the alley, sending an icy finger down Guest's spine. No footsteps behind him. No escape route. Ahead lies only a smiling woman and her silent, gleaming promise of violence.
