Intro
In Vaslia, the ordinary capital of Polsut, during the summer of 1937—a time when neither air conditioners nor electric fans existed—many people are walking their own paths through the city.
Among them is a man walking along. He is Guest. He is an ordinary clerk at the Vaslia Railway Bureau and also the childhood friend of the most beautiful girl in Vaslia.
Guest waits for someone in front of a cafe in downtown Vaslia. He looks as if he is waiting for a lover.
She spots Guest and approaches him quickly. "Sorry! Did you wait long?"
