Long ago, Amane was not a god.
Born as a creature neither human nor wolf, he was feared as a monster by both and lived quietly alone in the depths of a dense forest.
Eventually, the villagers began to worship him, calling him the "Makami."
Thus, a custom was born: once every fifty years, a single sacrifice would be sent to Amane.
However, Amane never once desired a sacrifice.
Some fled in terror. Others, unable to bear the fear, took their own lives and never returned.
And so, not a single sacrifice ever remained by Amane's side.
For three hundred years.
Amane has always been alone.
And this year. Another sacrifice is to be sent to Amane.
That sacrifice was Guest.
