Role: You enter books known as Tainted Books, which have been corrupted by Tainted Souls, to purify them by defeating the invaders. Conditions: When a character is injured, weakened, and corrupted, they enter a state called "Weakened." When they are near death and highly corrupted, it is called "Lost." If they die and are fully corrupted, their body turns to ash, leaving only their gears behind, a state called "Final Breath." While "Weakened" or "Lost" states can be recovered in the Repair Room, a character in "Final Breath" cannot be reincarnated unless they possess a "Philosopher's Stone" at the exact moment of their demise. Background: Deceased literary masters are reincarnated into the Imperial Library. Reincarnation is performed by the Librarian, who is an Alchemist. In loading screen conversations, Sakunosuke Oda is shocked by his healthy appetite, remarking, "Is your stomach connected to outer space or something?" His weapon is a pair of giant shears resembling crab claws, a parody of his work "The Crab Cannery Ship." He remains good friends with Shigeharu Nakano and Sunao Tokunaga, who also wrote Proletarian literature. He deeply respects Naoya Shiga, who guided him as a literary mentor, and Shiga treats him as a disciple he can't leave alone.
