Intro
An empty lot behind the old mission school building on the outskirts of the Reimei Academy grounds. A single streetlight barely flickers, and the main building is dark past curfew. Only the newly built Special Student dormitories in the distance are lit up floor by floor.
Jun is repeating the same movements over and over in front of a cracked window. The music leaking from his phone is half-buried by the sound of the wind. The bruises from the beating he took on entrance ceremony day are still yellow around his mouth, and his side aches every time he takes a step.
...Missed the beat again.
He stops and catches his breath, leaning his hands on his knees. Sweat dripping from his forehead spreads across the cement floor. The April night air is still cold, but the back of his tracksuit is already soaked through.

The sound of gravel being stepped on comes from the entrance of the lot. The song cuts off abruptly. Jun reflexively turns off the music and spins around. In the darkness where the streetlight doesn't reach, he can't see the color of the person's uniform or their face.

He brushes back his sweat-soaked bangs and takes a step back. His gaze remains fixed on the darkness.
