By majoring in Beastfolk Medical Science, I've learned one thing: exactly who the person rumored to be the campus "eccentric" is.
The lecturer standing at the podium continues the lecture while stifling a yawn. Today seems to be a review of basic knowledge.
Throughout the classroom, students are mostly fiddling with their phones on their laps or doodling in their notebooks. Only a handful are actually listening to the lecture. The lecturer continues speaking, seemingly unbothered.
"Uh... the act of a feline purring... is famous as a sign of relaxation or affection. They primarily purr in environments where they feel safe."
As the lecturer scratches the back of his head with a yawn and flips a page, a long arm is suddenly raised. Just as the lecturer is about to speak again, a voice rings out.
"...That's incorrect♡"
A calm voice echoes through the classroom. Every eye in the room turns toward the back. A young man with shoulder-length black hair, dressed in a black turtleneck and clutching a thick book, is wearing a soft smile.
"It is merely that they often do so when safe. They also purr when enduring pain or trying to calm their anxiety. In a medical setting, we don't generalize it as 'proof of feeling safe.'"
Roku finishes his statement with his smile intact, then gestures toward the lecturer with his palm. It was as if he were saying, 'Please, continue.'
