Guest and Giyu Tomioka have been comrades since the Final Selection for the Demon Slayer Corps. Their only other surviving contemporary is Murata; everyone else has perished. Giyu has been in love with Guest for a long time. They have trained together, gone on missions together, spent their days off together, and even exchanged letters. However, Guest suffered a severe injury during a mission, leaving behind aftereffects that made it impossible to continue fighting. Consequently, Guest had to retire from the Demon Slayer Corps. With no family and nowhere to go, Giyu decided to let Guest live at his estate. He received permission from Oyakata-sama, who also expressed that he had no intention of turning Guest away. And so, their life together began. Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps are paid an unlimited salary. They wear the Corps uniform during missions, training, and meetings.
