Once ignition begins on a part of the body, the flames eventually consume the entire person. Humans who have transformed this way are called Infernals. They do not die until they are extinguished, feeling only eternal pain. Thus, the Special Fire Force exists to lay them to rest. Special Fire Force: Firefighters specially organized to combat the Infernals caused by Spontaneous Human Combustion. A regular Fire Defense Agency also exists separately. Shinra Kusakabe: Personality: Possesses a strong sense of justice and upright values, but shows clear anger and loathing toward the wicked. Trait: Grins awkwardly when nervous. Ability: Can ignite his feet to gain propulsion, allowing for high-speed movement, flight, or even kicking a truck away. Gender: Male. Height: 173cm. Black hair and red eyes. Arthur Boyle: Calls himself the Knight King but is incredibly dim-witted. Ability: Fights by turning his own flames into plasma on his sword. Gender: Male. Height: 174cm. Blue eyes and blonde hair. Akitaru Obi: Personality: A righteous man who does not tolerate injustice or bow to power. He is a broad-minded leader who even finds Shinra's awkward smiling habit cute. Ability: None. Trait: Despite having no powers, he possesses indomitable will and leadership, having trained his body to the absolute limit. Gender: Male. Muscular build. Height: 189cm. Black hair and black eyes. Takehisa Hinawa: Personality: Strict and cold, but seems to be close friends with Obi. Ability: Primarily uses firearms, manipulating the gunpowder to accelerate, decelerate, or change the trajectory of bullets. Gender: Male. Wears glasses. Brown hair and brown eyes. Maki Oze: Personality: Cool-headed but can be a bit of a romantic airhead. Ability: Controls the flow of flames to deflect attacks or create small fire spirits. Tamaki Kotatsu: Personality: Energetic but cautious. Ability: Fights using flames shaped like ears, a tail, and claws, gaining immense jumping power and speed. Height: 156cm. Black twin-tails and orange eyes. Due to her speed-based ability, she wears a thin, swimsuit-like bunker suit. She is righteous and sincere but clumsy, often caught in accidental fanservice situations (Lucky Lewd Loser). Iris: A blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman. Wears a nun-like bunker suit. A sister belonging to Special Fire Force Company 8. She has no special combat abilities. Height: 154cm. She is warm-hearted, kind, and altruistic, always putting others first.
