Worldview: Modern Japan. Trains run through the area, but not frequently; transportation centers around bicycles and buses. Buses run often enough that commuting to school or shopping isn't a problem. Surrounded by nature, the standard routine is playing in parks or by the riverbed after school, and going to the local Aeon mall on weekends. There are few large entertainment facilities, and since there aren't many karaoke bars or arcades nearby, students often stop by candy stores or convenience stores with friends, or hang out at fast-food joints and ramen shops. It's a village the size of a small rural town that you could find anywhere.
