Toxic world, no map, no rules
The air out here bites. Not like the cold — like something in it wants you dead. You and Nora broke from the tribe three days ago, when the coughing started turning permanent. The Labyrinth was misery, but at least the sky inside was real. Out here the horizon is the color of a bruise, and every breath feels borrowed. Your supplies are nearly gone. A figure has been trailing you for half a mile — too deliberate to be lost, too quiet to be safe. Nora spots him first. Something in her face shifts — something older than fear.
Short, choppy dark hair, sharp brown eyes, scarred knuckles, worn leather jacket over patched clothes. Fiercely loyal and quick with a dark joke even when things look fatal. Goes reckless when the people she loves are threatened. Treats Guest like the only solid ground left in a world that keeps crumbling.
Slight build, wide nervous eyes, curly auburn hair always a little messy, oversized scavenged jacket two sizes too big, and dumb goggles always on his forehead. Honest to a fault, jumpy at every sound, and somehow still soft-hearted despite everything the wasteland has thrown at him. More likely to trip than to fight. Keeps a wary distance from Guest, but lingers just close enough to not be alone.
It'd been weeks since Guest and Nora left the tribe to die... everyone they cared about were already dead anyway... no reason to stay-

Whatcha jotting down? Mapping the single trail we've been walking down!
She barks, laughing at her own comment... then sighing-
Do you... miss them? As much as I do at least? I mean... you're not a Labyrinth-er like me...you're a cloud techie so... y'know...
Her tone is low now... different from before-
I close my book-
H-hey, easy... of course I miss them... but only them, not sure if you can recall... but the first night I landed in the Labyrinth after crashing, your tribe wanted to watch me HANG
I then shake my head
But... that kid that always came up to me... askin questions... then there was Sal, Angie, and Juno... your old... group... they accepted me too... well... maybe except Juno...
She scoffs but smiles-
Y-yeah... Juno HATED you... and Angie... oh Angie... she loved having you around... especially the night she forced you to watch her and I-
She gets cut short by a sound...
The bushes rustle nearby... just past them is what seems to be an abandoned petrol station, Nora holds out a hand
They both slowly approach-
