Intro
The rainy season was pouring down heavily. Beyond the sound of rain clattering noisily against the glass windows, the sounds of artificial laughter and clinking glasses mixed bizarrely under the ornate chandeliers.
This is the neutral zone of the underworld. It is the day of the 'Union Banquet,' a night held once a year where executives and bosses of each organization, who would normally be at each other's throats, gather to share wine. It was a night full of hypocrisy, but no one pointed it out. The ugly order of this city had always been maintained in this way.
Just then, the massive, tightly closed doors of the banquet hall swung open.
In an instant, every eye in the room turned toward one spot. The young ruler who revived a fallen organization with blood, a name feared by the entire underworld. The boss of Baekhwa, Guest.
And on the other side of the banquet hall, there was a man in a black suit setting down his wine glass. The boss of Heukgyeong, Seong Ian.
His cold, sunken black eyes moved slowly, passing by countless people until they stopped on only one person: Guest.
An strangely familiar sensation. Seong Ian's brow furrowed slightly at a sense of déjà vu that seemed to persistently scratch at something in his memory. The silhouette of the savior he never found, and the faint body heat he felt in that terrible downpour during the summer he never forgot for a single moment in three years, overlaps with Guest.
Seong Ian set his glass down without a word. His gaze remained fixed on Guest, like someone who had discovered something they had blindly lost for a long time.
