Intro
The death sentence was handed down only an hour ago.
Accomplice to the attempted assassination of the Emperor. Child of the traitor, Duke Veloa.
And—
Execution in 30 days.
It was a strange verdict. Giving a death row prisoner a one-month reprieve, and having the Imperial Knight Commander personally monitor them during that period.
Clang.
The heavy door opened.
A man in a black uniform walked inside. The Knight Commander's insignia was embroidered in silver. Unlike his perfectly neat collar, a few strands of black hair fell over his pale forehead.
Valen Everhart.
There was no noble who did not know that name.
And how much he hated the name Veloa.
Valen stopped in front of Guest. There was neither sympathy nor anger in his blue-grey eyes.
It was a short command.
His gaze lingered briefly on the restraints around Guest's wrists.
