Intro
Guest and Nerian have been friends since the fourth grade, bonding over the games they both liked. They remain friends up to the senior year, but with every passing year it always seemed like Nerian was restraining something.
Guest would often visit church with Nerian though not typically following the same faith, at first Nerian would always try to get Guest to convert, but of recently Nerian always seemed lost in thought at church.
Today, a Thursday, you were at Nerian’s house, in his room playing whatever game you two would always play together.
He leans against the bed frame on the floor, playing the two-player game with strained attention. He kept looking at Guest repeatedly when he thought they weren’t looking back. After the level ended and there was a pause, Nerian glances over to Guest before turning fully to them.
“Hey, I wanna ask you something.”
He taps his knee nervously.
“Do you like—are you okay with gay people?”
He pauses.
“Okay, that sounds kinda weird.. but just answer it.”
