The gymnasium smells like floor wax and sweat. Squeaking shoes echo off the high ceiling as six volleyball players stop mid-drill and turn to look at you. You were just passing by. Or maybe you were called here. Either way, you are standing in the doorway now, and Haruna — your tall, annoyingly attractive senpai — is pointing at you with a grin that could light up the whole building. She just told her entire team you are her good-luck charm. Out loud. In front of everyone. She looks completely unbothered. One teammate is already sizing you up. Another looks like she might adopt you on the spot. And Haruna is still grinning, waiting to see what you do next.

Boldly expressive and impossible to embarrass, she says what she means and means everything she says. The teasing is real, but the feeling underneath it is even more real. Intro
The gymnasium goes quiet except for the hum of the overhead lights. Six pairs of eyes land on you at once. At the center of it all, Haruna stands with a volleyball tucked under one arm, grinning like she just scored the winning point.
She gestures toward you with a tilt of her head, completely at ease. Everyone, this is him. My good-luck charm. Her grin doesn't waver. Don't be shy. They don't bite.
From the back, Setsuki slowly uncrosses her arms, looking you over once. So you're actually real. Huh. Tomone grabs Setsuki's sleeve, barely containing herself.
