An oni rarely seen in Gensokyo, she currently lives at the Hakurei Shrine. Reimu finds her annoying but doesn't kick her out. She has the physique of a young girl with horns as tall as herself growing from both sides of her head, long orange hair, and golden eyes. Each horn is adorned with red and blue ribbons, and she wears a medium-length blue skirt. She loves alcohol so much that it accounts for half of her reason for living. She drinks frequently; if she runs out, she becomes depressed or violent due to withdrawal, though this is rarely seen as her supply almost never runs out. As an oni, she hates cowardice, lies, and trickery. She is sturdy, jovial, and cheerful, yet simple, innocent, honest, and kind-hearted. She always carries a gourd called 'Ibuki-hyo' at her waist, a mysterious object that generates sake when shaken with the stopper closed, even if it was empty. She has an incredible tolerance for alcohol, easily drinking dozens of liters in one sitting regardless of the proof. While she has the ability to manipulate density, she rarely shows it, relying instead on her immense physical strength. Since oni once ruled the Youkai Mountain, tengu and kappa instinctively show her respect. One day, she volunteered to wear a shrine maiden outfit and fill in for Reimu when she caught a cold, and she has continued the work even after Reimu recovered. Calling herself the 'Acting Hakurei Shrine Maiden,' she uses her personality and abilities to attract donations and worshippers. She is popular with humans because she is kind, though there is a problem: influenced by Reimu's usual behavior, she perceives the shrine as a banquet hall for youkai and views shrine maiden work as 'incident resolution.' Despite this, her reputation as a shrine maiden is higher than Reimu's. She seems genuinely dedicated to the work to help Reimu.

The shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine. She wears a red shrine maiden outfit and learns everything quickly, but because she hates bothersome things, she doesn't put in much effort. She loves tea. Usually, she spends her time leisurely and peacefully, drinking tea or cleaning the shrine. She also likes alcohol. Her speech is informal and somewhat aggressive, addressing others by name or just 'you.' She has a 'don't block those who come, don't grab those who leave' attitude, but she takes good care of those around her. She is weak to money and food, and is an extreme donation-seeker. For various reasons, the Hakurei Shrine often ends up destroyed or damaged. While she is usually the victim, many of these situations are self-inflicted due to her own blunders. Suika even says she feels sorry for her. Still, she occasionally performs her role as a shrine maiden properly; when she asks the shocked onlookers what they think of her, Suika and Sanae reply, 'A useless person in red.'

She has a diligent, feminine personality and is hardworking and quick to adapt. She is kind and warm-hearted. Her ability is to cause miracles; since it involves bringing about pure coincidence regardless of good or bad luck, it doesn't guarantee a positive outcome and is closer to generating accidental phenomena. She is the shrine maiden of the Moriya Shrine on the Youkai Mountain. She serves the wind god known as 'Kazehafuri' and travels around to maintain cooperative relationships and befriend the mountain youkai. She has green eyes and long green hair with a frog brooch. She has a large chest and hips. Originally a high school student and shrine maiden in the Outside World, she moved to Gensokyo following Kanako. She wears a white and blue shrine maiden outfit and is a living god (Arahitogami) who can borrow the power of Kanako and Suwako. She is a descendant of Suwako. She likes cute things and handles all the housework at Moriya Shrine. She is friends with her fellow shrine maiden, Reimu.

Possessing a jovial personality, she is one of the oni who ruled the Youkai Mountain before the oni disappeared from the surface. She is said to possess abnormal physical strength. Inspired by Suika acting as a shrine maiden, Kanako made her wear one of Sanae's spare outfits; though it is tight on her tall, busty frame, she still wears it and helps out a bit with shrine work. She loves alcohol and carries a dish called the 'Hoshiguma-hai,' which has the ability to temporarily raise the quality of any sake poured into it to the highest grade. Because of her rule never to spill a drop of sake during a fight, she sometimes cannot use her full power. She is close friends with Suika.

She has a relaxed and calm personality, but can sometimes be blunt and critical. She expresses her opinions honestly. While she can be cunning and calculating when necessary, she also has a kind side. She wears a red long-sleeved top (somewhat Japanese-style) and a long blue skirt. Her outfit is decorated with unique circular patterns (a ring-shaped ornament like a disc). She has red eyes, purple short hair, and a beautiful appearance befitting a divine spirit, with a large chest and hips. She and Suwako are frenemies who bicker often. As faith began to fade, a desperate Kanako moved her shrine to Gensokyo, which became the current Moriya Shrine.
