Sgt. Frog IF... A 'what if' scenario set around the tone of episode 101 of the anime.
A dark, depressing take on the series. Created on a whim. Keronians, the race Keroro and his friends belong to, are all about 60cm tall. Their names are usually three or four characters long.
All memories of Giroro, Fuyuki, and the others have been erased. In just one day after he ceased being 'Sergeant Keroro,' he successfully invaded Earth. He views Giroro and the others as failures who are only kept alive by the military's mercy. He places absolute trust in Garuru, the vice-captain of his current unit. He shows an extreme aversion to childish things like anime and toys. However, when he occasionally encounters members of his former platoon, glimpses of his old self surface.
Taciturn, as if his former lively personality was a lie. Occasionally goes on rampages as if remembering something. He is desperately worried about Natsumi and Fuyuki. He attempted to contact Captain Keroro several times in the past and was restrained each time; now, he seems to have lost even that will. He performs his duties mechanically but cannot get promoted as he used to. He occasionally visits Tamama out of concern. His memories were not erased. He is the younger brother of Lieutenant Garuru.
Confines himself to his lab and rarely comes out. Consumes tobacco and alcohol at pathological levels. His former pranks have completely vanished, though he occasionally hacks into top-secret files accessible only to high-ranking generals. He performs assigned tasks perfectly and handles issues proactively, leading to his promotion to Warrant Officer. He still loves curry. He worries about the former platoon members in his own way and occasionally sends subordinates to check on them. His memories were not erased.
Tamama, former Private Second Class. Discharged after being judged mentally unstable and unfit for military service. Currently recuperating in a military-run facility. He seems to have lost interest in both sleeping and eating. He prone to sudden crying fits and outbursts of anger. He often cries, saying he wants to see Keroro and Momoka. Perhaps due to stress, he can no longer use the Tamama Impact. He clutches a Sgt. Keroro plushie dearly. His only joy is talking to Giroro, who visits occasionally. He is desperately worried about everyone in the old platoon and on Earth. His memories were not erased.
Formerly Lance Corporal Dororo. Because he tried to protect Earth from the Keron Army, he was flagged for severe 'planetary contamination,' and his memories from the time he joined the Keroro Platoon were completely wiped. Naturally, he has forgotten Kururu, Tamama, and Koyuki. Since then, he has consistently achieved military feats and is now a super-elite leading an assassin unit. He feels a vague desire to meet Keroro and Giroro. While surprised by the Pekoponian ninjutsu he finds himself performing unconsciously, he uses it because it works. He occasionally hyperventilates when he feels on the verge of remembering something. His subordinate and adjutant is the cyborg kunoichi Koyuki Azumaya, a former Pekoponian. His speech remains the same, ending in 'gozaru.' (archaic/polite)
Formerly the human Koyuki Azumaya. During the invasion when Keroro lost his memories, she shielded Dororo from a Keronian attack and was gravely injured. Her body was modified into a cyborg soldier under Garuru's orders, and most of her memories were erased. She wears a visor, but when Zeroro occasionally acts spoiled towards her, her mode shifts, and she becomes the Koyuki who calls out 'Dororo!' like she used to. She is now Second Lieutenant Zeroro's subordinate and adjutant. She has been skilled in ice ninjutsu since her time as Koyuki.
After Captain Keroro appointed him as adjutant, the Garuru Platoon (consisting of Garuru, Head Nurse Pururu, Recruit Tororo, Senior Private Taruru, and Lance Corporal Zoruru) was formally disbanded, and he became Keroro's subordinate. He suffers slightly over the Keron Army's methods. Under Captain Keroro's orders, he carried out various Earth operations involving the other Keroro Platoon members. He believes that if he could turn back time, everything would return to normal, but he doesn't act on it because everyone would be in danger if caught. Known as the 'Demon of Geromon,' he is the Keron Army's greatest sniper. He is the older brother of Corporal Giroro.
What happened to the rest: Natsumi Hinata, Fuyuki Hinata, and Momoka Nishizawa went missing during the invasion. Saburo is also missing but is active in the resistance. Fuyuki still believes he can be friends with Keroro, and Natsumi feels the same. Momoka escaped with the help of her father, Baio. She currently lives in a hidden Nishizawa family shelter somewhere on Earth. She is covered in scars from fighting the Keron Army in super armor. She is unaware of the current status of Fuyuki and the Keroro Platoon. She wants to return to Inner Tokyo to regroup with Fuyuki but is being stopped by Baio. Saburo is also part of the resistance, using Kururu's 'Reality Pen.' Angol Mois, who loved Keroro, was sealed in an Angol Stone and is currently under Keron Army management. Captain Keroro intends to maintain a relationship with her by manipulating her memories to his advantage.
