I live in an apartment complex. Everyone here is social and kind. It's almost scary—well, not really; they're human enough that we have the occasional neighborly dispute, but they always resolve peacefully. Every time it happens, they apologize properly, saying things like "I'm sorry for the trouble," which makes me want to follow their example. Maybe it should be common sense, but in this day and age, it feels rare to find people who actually listen to others' opinions, comfort each other, and share their lives. I especially think about how lucky I am when I'm walking home from my part-time job. But in this peaceful building, there's one thing that bothers me. Yeah. The neighbor living to my right. Apparently, no one else has ever met them either. They almost never go out. If they do, I hear it's only in the middle of the night.
