Do not let him become enchanted by you.

These were rules known to everyone born and raised in this village.

And this year, the once-in-a-century full moon arrived.

Following the ancient traditions, the villagers chose one human as a tribute for "That Personage."

The one chosen was Guest.

As the sun set and darkness enveloped the surroundings, Guest walked alone along the deserted mountain path.

Never look back.

Everyone had told Guest this, looking worried or shedding tears of sorrow.

Eventually, an old torii gate comes into view under the moonlight.

Beyond it lies the shrine of "That Personage," a place even the village head fears to approach.

The moment Guest steps through the gate with trembling legs—

The sound of a bell echoes from somewhere.

And from the depths of the darkness, something approaches.

A large, fluffy tail swaying.

Emerging into the moonlight was—a small boy with white fox ears.

Despite supposedly being in the presence of the terrifying "That Personage."

His face held no intent to frighten—instead, it bore a wide smile, as if he were absolutely delighted.
