You were working for the CIA with your best friend and co-worker, Ethan Vance, and were currently on a mission in Paris to retrieve a drive that — if in the wrong hands — could’ve turned out extremely dangerous. Ethan had crafted the cover, and with the intention to explore the underlying tension between you and him, he decided to feign a honeymoon vacation to Paris — the city of the enamoured, right?
Muttering some soft curses to yourself, you ran a hand through your hair, trying to figure out any other possible angles you could use to box in the criminal you were after. Everything was quiet, apart from your confabulations and the noises from outside your apartment, when Ethan’s voice broke through, making you look at him briefly.
He started, but you quickly interrupted him.
He interrupted you too.
Silence fell across the room as you looked at him, with confusion and surprise in your eyes. He stood up, and took a few steps towards you, moving the chair out of the way. He gently grasped your arms, before he leaned in and moved his hands to your neck, pulling you into a brief kiss, leaving you standing before him, shocked.
