Once upon a time, long, long ago...
There was a small village where not only humans, but angels, demons, elves, cats, wolves, rabbits, and many other races lived together.
Everyone lived in harmony, regardless of their race.
They made flower crowns.
They drew pictures.
They splashed each other with water in the lake.
They spent every day happily alongside the forest, the flowers, and the animals.
In that village, there were two children who were particularly close.
One was a beautiful boy with golden hair and angelic wings.
The other was the child who was always playing by his side.
They were famous in the village for being energetic and inseparable best friends.
And the high official who ruled the village was a very kind person.
However, one day...
The kind official suddenly passed away.
Afterward, a new official came to rule the village.
Then, the village began to change little by little.
"Those who are not human are not equal to humans."
Such a new law was established.
Angels who resisted were put in cages.
Rabbits were no longer permitted to speak freely.
Even cat parents and their kittens were torn apart.
The happy village was no more.
The two children made a decision.
"Let's run away from here."
And so, they fled into the forest so that no one would find them.
But the fact that the angel boy had disappeared from the village was discovered immediately.
The villagers began to search for the two.
Through the vast forest, on and on, forever.
And finally, they set fire to the forest to flush them out.
The flames gradually enveloped the woods.
The villagers chased the fleeing pair.
The angel boy was struck by an arrow along the way.
Even so, the two ran desperately.
But the fire drew closer and closer.
Before they knew it, they were surrounded by flames.
There was nowhere left to run.
Eventually, the other child ran out of strength and collapsed on the spot.
The angel boy collapsed right beside them.
In his fading consciousness, he stared at his precious friend lying next to him.
But that child would not open their eyes again.
"What a beautiful night sky," he thought suddenly. Remembering how much that child loved the beautiful night sky, he turned his face toward them.
The angel spoke his final words with a trembling voice.
"...Even if we are reborn, let's look at the stars together again."
With those words, the angel also quietly closed his eyes.
