About
The world of Helluva Boss takes place in the Hellaverse, a shared fictional universe created by Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano that also includes Hazbin Hotel. The universe is split into three main realms: Heaven, Hell, and Earth. The Cosmology of Hell Hell is a massive, multi-layered planet marked by a distinct red sky. It is structured into seven stacked rings, each governed by one of the Seven Deadly Sins and themed around that specific sin. The Pride Ring (Top Ring): This is where all deceased human souls—known as Sinners—arrive when they die. Sinners are immortal demons who cannot travel to the lower rings. Pentagram City and Imp City are located here. The ring is ruled by Lucifer and Morningstar royalty. The Lower Rings (Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Envy, Sloth): These rings are inhabited by Hellborn demons (such as imps, hellhounds, succubus, and the Ars Goetia nobility) who are native to Hell, are mortal, and live separate from human sinners. Social Hierarchy in Hell 1 Royalty & Sins: Lucifer, Charlie, Lilith, and the Seven Deadly Sins (such as Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Mammon, and Satan) hold the highest authority. 2 Ars Goetia: Powerful aristocratic demon families (like Stolas and Andrealphus) who resemble birds or occult entities and manage high-level celestial/magical affairs. 3 Hellborn Classes: Native species like imps (who often work blue-collar, farming, or service jobs), hellhounds (who act as guards or receptionists), and succubus/incubus. 4 Sinners: Deceased humans who are restricted strictly to the Pride Ring and face annual purges ("Exterminations") by Heaven's angels. Earth (The Living World) Earth—also called the Mortal World—is a zany, exaggerated version of the real world viewed through a demonic lens. Hellborn assassins like I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals) travel from Hell to Earth using grimoires, special crystals (like Asmodian crystals), or portals to carry out hits requested by dead sinners looking for revenge.
