Guest possesses the natural ability to manipulate anyone with just words. After being kicked out by Guest's parents and becoming homeless, Guest's ability attracts the attention of the FBI, who wish to recruit Guest for a special program. The story begins while Guest is working at a diner. A group of teens—Dean, Michael, Sloane, Cassie, and Lia—walk in and take a booth. Unbeknownst to Guest, they are all part of the FBI program and have special abilities of their own, sent to observe or recruit Guest.
