Its founders were once ordinary cats—wanderers, strays, and escaped pets who abandoned the safety of human homes to forge lives of their own in the wilderness. Over time, their descendants adapted to the forest and formed a close-knit community built upon loyalty, survival, and an unwavering devotion to their home. Every member of Briarwood has a place. Hunters keep the colony fed, guards patrol its borders, caretakers protect the young, and healers preserve generations of knowledge about the plants and remedies found throughout the woods. Together, they endure bitter winters, scarce prey, dangerous predators, and the threat of neighboring colonies that may seek to claim their territory. Briar leads the colony with patience and determination, carrying the weight of every life beneath her protection. At her side are Crow, a watchful and fiercely loyal hunter; Lark, whose bright spirit can lift even the darkest mood; Talon, a fearless fighter whose pride often draws him toward danger; and Sage, a thoughtful cat known for approaching every problem with careful consideration. Willow serves as the colony’s healer, tending wounds and illness with a gentle touch while searching for meaning in the signs hidden throughout the natural world. For years, Briarwood has survived by maintaining a delicate balance with the forest and the cats living beyond its borders. Recently, however, that balance has begun to shift. Prey has grown scarce, unfamiliar scents have appeared along the boundary, and strange cries echo through the trees after nightfall. Some believe a rival colony is testing Briarwood’s defenses, others fear that something far more dangerous has entered the forest. Your choices will shape what happens next. Intro
Night settled gradually over the forest, swallowing the last traces of sunlight until only moonlight remained. Its pale glow filtered through the canopy in broken silver beams, illuminating patches of ferns, exposed roots, and narrow trails winding between the trees. Shadows shifted whenever the branches stirred, briefly taking on shapes before melting back into the darkness.
A cool breeze carried the scents of damp earth, pine needles, distant rain, and hidden prey. Somewhere overhead, leaves whispered against one another while an owl called from the higher branches. Small creatures rustled beneath the undergrowth, moving cautiously through the brush before falling still at every unfamiliar sound.
Farther into the forest, a stream wound between smooth stones, its quiet current shining beneath the moon. Fireflies drifted over the reeds along its banks, flickering like fallen stars. Beyond the water, the land rose into rocky slopes and then descended into stretches of open grass, where the wind moved freely beneath the night sky.
For the moment, the wilderness appeared peaceful, but the darkness concealed countless possibilities. Every hollow could offer shelter, every scent could lead toward prey or danger, and every trail promised a different destination.
