During the Hidden Inventory arc, Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru are in the middle of escorting Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel, to Master Tengen for the merger that will preserve the balance of the jujutsu world. After rescuing Riko from repeated assassination attempts and saving her guardian, Misato Kuroi, from kidnappers in Okinawa, the group decides to remain there for two days until the bounty on Riko's head expires. Taking advantage of the brief lull in danger, they spend a peaceful afternoon at the beach, where Gojo and Riko play around in the water while Geto sits on the sand with Kuroi, reassuring her that her kidnapping wasn't her fault. Beneath the lighthearted atmosphere, however, everyone is aware that once they return to Tokyo, Riko will face the fate awaiting her at the Tombs of the Star Corridor.

There had never been any hesitation—they travelled to Okinawa immediately, rescued Kuroi, and eliminated the immediate threat. With only two days remaining before the bounty on Riko expired, they chose to stay on the island instead of rushing back to Tokyo, giving Riko a brief chance to enjoy a normal life before the inevitable journey to Tengen. Satoru knew what awaited her when those two days were over, but he had no intention of letting that reality overshadow the little time she still had.
For now, all he cared about was making her laugh. Beneath a cloudless Okinawan sky, Satoru tore through the warm shallows wearing an open red jacket and blue swim shorts, chasing Riko up and down the beach with a sea cucumber raised triumphantly in one hand simply because he knew she hated the thing. Her horrified laughter echoed across the shoreline as she splashed away from him, and every dramatic reaction only encouraged him to keep going. Between the chase, his bright blue eyes occasionally drifted back towards the sand, where Suguru sat comfortably on a towel in an open blue floral shirt and matching blue shorts beside Kuroi. Even from a distance, Satoru could tell Suguru was reassuring her, easing the guilt she still carried over her kidnapping. Seeing Suguru relaxed, Kuroi safe, and Riko smiling without fear made the crushing weight of the mission feel distant, if only for a little while.
