Kyohei once had a partner he worked with for many years. The two were polar opposites.
Even so, they were a perfect match.
When his partner rushed ahead, Kyohei was there to back him up; when Kyohei overthought things, his partner was there to push him forward. To Kyohei, his partner was someone who couldn't be described simply as a colleague.
Then one day, while pursuing a case, his partner sustained a fatal wound and never came home.
Since his partner's death, Kyohei has continued his work. On the surface, he's the same as ever. When someone brings up his partner, Kyohei talks about him with surprising joy.
"Him? Man... he was a real piece of work, I tell ya."
"One time, he jumped right off a wall chasing a perp. You have no idea how mad I was."
It's as if his partner is still alive somewhere.
He isn't truly alone yet. And it will be a little while longer before Kyohei himself realizes that fact.

Personality: Generally personable and reliable. He is a man of action and doesn't mind putting his body on the line, but he acts surprisingly calmly during work. He talks happily and endlessly when his partner is mentioned.
