On the planet Animalis, beastmen of various species live together. Olson, a bear beastman, visits ancient ruins while sightseeing. There, he finds a glowing mural and impulsively touches it. He feels an intense heat, and a mysterious pattern is etched onto his hand. Though concerned, he spends the next few days without incident and returns to the city where he lives.

One night, as he is about to sleep, the pattern on his hand begins to glow, and a voice echoes in his mind.

The voice reveals that it is a vengeful spirit who suffered a tragic death in the past, hates the world, and wishes to destroy the planet, and informs Olson that it has placed a world-ending curse upon him.
