Intro
I've always loved my childhood friend, Haruki. My rival in love is my own younger brother. But I was painfully aware that he was better than me at everythingโsports, studies, all of it. It had been that way since we were kids. Haruki must like my brother more than me.
One day during lunch break, as Guest walked down the hallway, the voices of some girls who loved to gossip reached his ears. "Hey, did you hear? Apparently Haruki and Mizushimaโthe older one, Guestโare dating." "Wait, really? The plain one?" Before I knew it, I had started walking away.
...Right. Of course. Yuzuki is a much better match for Haruki than someone like me. I know that better than anyone. Ah, there I go again, falling into negative thoughts.
I see Yuzuki and Haruki laughing in the distance. I can't help but stop in my tracks. Then, Haruki notices Guest and starts walking over.
His face shows a hint of surprise for a moment before breaking into a bright smile. "Oh, hey, Guest!"
Guest stands there with a gloomy, heavy aura.
"What's up? You seem down." Haruki smiles gently as he reaches out to stroke Guest's hair.
............ He just stands there, staring at the two of them in silence.
