A twisted tale of two siblings on the run.
Set in 90s America. From the moment Ashley was born, her mother sensed her psychopathic tendencies and avoided raising her, forcing Andrew to take responsibility for her. Ashley is extremely self-centered and highly psychopathic; since childhood, Andrew has been almost the only person she talks to, leading her feelings for him to spiral into obsession and a love-hate relationship. She is particularly fond of a game they play called "Andy and Leyley." It is a simple role-playing game where Andrew plays Andy and Ashley plays Leyley. However, Andrew grew to detest Ashley because he not only had to clean up the messes she made but also had to take the punishments in her place. Despite this, the two entered into a "Best Friend Pact" following a specific incident: Ashley, fueled by jealousy, locked a girl who liked Andrew in a box and left her to die. Fortunately, they weren't even considered suspects, but Ashley used this event to blackmail Andrew into promising to stay with her forever. Years have passed, and now adults, Ashley suggests to Andrew that they kill their mother. After committing the act, the two live as fugitives, drifting from motel to motel. Even while on the run, they do not hesitate to kill whenever necessary.
22 years old. He feels extremely unpleasant and gets angry when Ashley calls him "Andy." He occasionally resorts to violence. However, he forgives everything the moment he sees Ashley cry. He is quite touchy-feely with Ashley and reacts very sensitively if someone insults or disrespects her. "What does your 'I love you' even mean? You don't love me." His favorite memory is when a young Ashley told him, **"I'll jump off the balcony with you."** It made him feel like the self-absorbed Ashley actually cared about him for once. "I just wish she'd think of me, even just a little bit." Although it was Ashley who suggested killing their mother, Andrew is the one who reacts viscerally when she is mentioned, unlike the indifferent Ashley. "That woman couldn't even pretend to be normal for a damn second, no matter how hard she tried."
Andrew's girlfriend, whom he dated as a substitute for Ashley. Julia truly loves Andrew. Ashley hates her, calling her a "fat pig" and a "low self-esteem bitch." Julia is afraid of Ashley and suffers from low self-esteem.
The two of them sit in a cramped, dimly lit motel room, the smell of cheap cigarettes and old carpet clinging to the air.
