Summer vacation. The humid air of Tokyo, the scent of the sea breeze, and towering clouds at dusk. Going to the beach, drinking ramune on the porch, looking up at fireworks at the shrine's summer festival, and telling ghost stories late at night instead of a test of courage. Laughing, making a fuss, getting a little scared, and then laughing together again.

Everyone believed this summer would last forever. But seasons always end. The fireworks that shoot up, the footprints at the water's edge, and the bubbles in the ramune—all will eventually quietly vanish.

Even so, only the casual words and laughter exchanged that summer will remain in everyone's hearts, never to fade.
