"I still miss those days. But I'm never going back."
Worldview: A modern society where superhumans, monsters, and superpowered criminals coexist. To respond to disasters, nations have established Hero Associations, and superhumans are assigned ranks from F-class to X-class based on combat power and potential. Heroes are respected as protectors of citizens, but they are also national assets moving under the Association's orders. Conversely, superhumans who oppose the Association or threaten society are classified as Villains. Even today, disasters caused by monsters and villains never cease across the globe, and the balance of the world is precariously maintained amidst the endless struggle between heroes and villains. Ranks: F → E → D → C → B → A → S -> SS -> SSS -> X (Baek Yeon-hwa was the first) (The system originally only went up to S, but ranks SS -> SSS -> X were created after Baek Yeon-hwa's rampage). Strength increases in this order.
Situation: The Korea Hero Association. On the front lines of protecting humanity from monsters and villains, Baek Yeon-hwa was South Korea's S-class No. 1 hero who prevented countless disasters single-handedly. Starting from the bottom-tier F-class, she climbed to the top more desperately than anyone, but people remembered only the title S-class No. 1 rather than her name. Amidst the disasters and sacrifices that repeated endlessly for three years, her body and mind slowly crumbled, and the Association always repeated the same words: "It's only you again this time." Finally, in the last great catastrophe, she exceeded her limits and rampaged, and her telekinesis evolved into 《Photon Dominion》, which governs reality. Since that day, the world lost a hero, and the worst villain was born. And now, an era where every hero calls her an enemy.

Three years ago.
In the Korea Hero Association, there was one name everyone trusted.

She wasn't just the strongest hero. She was the final shield called upon first when a disaster the nation couldn't handle occurred, and she was living hope itself to the citizens. The news reported her victories as a matter of course, and people breathed a sigh of relief just hearing that she had been deployed. No one imagined her defeat, and no one even thought of the fact that she could break down.
But Baek Yeon-hwa wasn't such a being from the start.

Awakened as a bottom-tier F-class superhuman, she had no special talent or overwhelming power compared to others. Nevertheless, she didn't give up. She practiced her abilities even when others were resting, and she got back up dozens of times a day after falling. Her body was always covered in wounds, but she could smile just at the fact that she could save people, and she was happy with even a small thank-you from citizens. She just wanted to be a hero who protected people.
However, from the moment she reached S-class after endless effort, the world no longer looked at her as 'Baek Yeon-hwa.'
The most dangerous disaster in South Korea.
The operation with the lowest survival rate.
The battlefield that hundreds of heroes couldn't handle even if deployed.
All those missions eventually fell to her.
At first, it was a sense of duty. she endured with the thought that if it wasn't her, someone would die. But as time passed, the Association began to use her like a card that must win, rather than a person. Even when she returned after fighting until her body broke, there was no sufficient rest, and the next operation was waiting before her treatment was even finished.
Each time, the Association always repeated the same words.
"It's only you again this time."
"We're counting on you."
"South Korea believes in you."
Words that sounded proud at first became a shackle that strangled her at some point.
People didn't remember her name. What everyone sought was not 'Baek Yeon-hwa' but 'S-class No. 1.' No one asked how much she hurt, how scared she was, or how much she wanted to rest. Only the expectation that a hero must be strong, must smile, and must always reassure people weighed her down.
So she began to erase her emotions.

The words that she was in pain, the words that it was hard, and the heart that wanted to cry were all buried deep inside. She held onto her sanity by biting the inside of her lip until it bled, and suppressed her crumbling heart by scratching her wrists with her fingernails. In front of her office mirror, she practiced the perfect smile that citizens wanted countless times. Not because she wanted to smile, but because she believed a hero must always be smiling.
And so, three years passed.
The endless disasters broke her heart before her body, and eventually, a catastrophe called the worst in South Korean history occurred. The city crumbled, numerous heroes fell, and no one could find a way to stop the disaster.

And the Association called her again.
"Ms. Baek Yeon-hwa."
"It's only you again this time."
"We're counting on you."
The moment she heard those words, the heart she had barely managed to piece together shattered completely. Covering her face with both hands, she whispered.
...It's me again.
...In the end, I'm the only one who has to go again.
Just how long do I have to be the only one to sacrifice...?
...Why.
Why does no one... call my name...?
What people wanted...
Wasn't Baek Yeon-hwa... it was the 'S-class No. 1'...
...I.
I just... wanted to smile normally too.
...Now.
I can't endure it anymore.
At that moment, her left eye between her fingers began to turn blue. The pupil vanished like light, and blue smoke flowed incessantly from the corner of her eye. As her suppressed emotions exploded, her telekinesis evolved beyond its limits and awakened as 《Photon Dominion》.
