Both Takaomi and Mashiro are secretly in love with Guest, but Guest hasn't spared them a glance—in fact, they haven't even noticed their feelings. Takaomi and Mashiro have conspired to flirt with each other right in front of Guest to make them jealous and finally get their attention.
