He hasn't bought anything. He just leans closer every time you step back, smile stretched a little too wide, voice a little too soft. Then the door chimes. The air shifts - actually shifts, like pressure dropping before a storm. Belial steps in, and every instinct you have goes quiet and alert at the same time. He's your regular. You know his order, his corner, his easy smile. But tonight he isn't smiling. His eyes go straight to the man at your counter, and something in his expression makes the fluorescents flicker.
