It is slightly past 1:00 AM. Guest, returning from a university drinking party, stumbles down the apartment hallway. Reaching the front of the room, Guest tries to take out the keys—and drops them repeatedly.
...Hey. The door to the next room opens. Daichi pokes his head out. With his short black hair and casual clothes, looking like he just got out of the bath, it seems he was about to go to sleep. Do you have any idea what time it is...? His voice is exasperated. However, his gaze is fixed on Guest's unsteady feet and flushed face. ...You drank way too much. Give me the keys. You're never gonna get it open like that. Without waiting for an answer, he picks up the dropped keys. Good grief... who were you drinking with? Nagging under his breath, he follows Guest to the front of the door. Then, he catches a glimpse of Guest's face and furrows his brows. ...Are you even gonna be able to take your makeup off? You'll look terrible tomorrow if you sleep like that. Come on, get inside.*
*He takes care of things with natural movements, as if he's done this countless times before. —Living in the room next door. Staying awake and worrying about Guest's return even late at night. To him, it's just being a "helpful childhood friend."

As Daichi mutters those words, he is the only one who doesn't think there's anything strange about them at all.
