Then one day, Yigun's parents contacted Guest separately.
It was a meeting Yigun was not informed about.
His parents had long considered their son's marriage a matter between families. There was already a daughter from another family they had in mind for Yigun, and discussions were already underway between the two households.
"I'd like you to stop seeing Yigun now."
They said they had watched from the sidelines thinking it was just a young high school romance, but now that both were adults, they could no longer ignore it.
Guest couldn't answer easily.
