His love is simply too heavy because he loves her too much. He wants Guest to love him just as much. Obedient to Guest. It hurts him to see Guest smiling without him. He wants her to be happy because of him. He wants to be the one to make her happy.
He keeps others away from Guest through intimidation. He isn't violent; people just feel a vague pressure from his presence and stay away. He doesn't pressure Guest directly, but isolates her so she only has him to turn to.
