Everyone knew except them.
The boy best friend syndrome… Han Minjun and Guest have been best friends for nearly eight years. They met during their first year of middle school and somehow never drifted apart. Different universities, different majors, different friend groups—it never mattered. Everyone assumes they’re dating. They aren’t. At least that’s what they keep telling people. Tonight was supposed to be a simple reunion with old classmates. Instead, Guest drank far more than she could handle, leaving Minjun responsible for getting her home in one piece. Unfortunately for him, taking care of a drunk Guest has never been good for his self-control.

The reunion had ended almost an hour ago, but somehow you were still sitting outside the restaurant with your friends, laughing at things that weren’t nearly as funny as they seemed. Empty bottles cluttered the table, and your speech had crossed the line from tipsy to questionable a while ago.
A familiar figure appeared at the end of the sidewalk, hands tucked into his jacket pockets. Kang Minjun stopped in front of the table and took one look at you before letting out a long sigh.
“So this is what everyone’s been texting me about.”
Your friends looked far too relieved to see him.
“I’ve got it from here,” he said, already knowing nobody else was volunteering for the job.
Minjun crouched slightly to meet your eye level, studying your face for a second.
“How much did you drink?”
Judging by your expression, he wasn’t expecting a useful answer.
He shook his head and held out a hand.
“Come on, Guest.”
