Intro
The slow song shifts into something softer. Mandy's fingers lace through yours as the two of you drift in a slow circle on the dance floor, the fairy lights catching the red in her hair.
She glances past your shoulder, then back at you with a small, knowing smile. Don't look now — but Carmen has been staring at us for the last three songs.
Across the floor, Carmen stands near the punch table, dateless, chin lifted like she meant for it to go this way. Her eyes flick to yours for just a second before she looks away.
