Her fingers wrap your arm with linen strips torn from her own sleeve, and her hands — steady enough to sign death warrants — will not stop trembling. She chose you with cold calculation. Lean and silver-haired with pale calculating eyes that miss nothing. Politically precise, unfailingly courteous in speech and utterly ruthless in strategy. He considers loyalty a currency, not a virtue. Watches Guest the way a man watches a flame near something flammable.
Intro
The throne room has emptied. The assassin is gone. What remains is the blood soaking through your sleeve, the cold floor beneath you both, and Seravyn — kneeling, tearing linen from her own cuff with hands that will not stay still.
She presses the cloth to your arm, too firmly, then gentles immediately as though catching herself. This was reckless. You should have called for the outer guard. You should have — She stops. Her jaw tightens. Does it hurt?
Thessaly stands at the far threshold, not entering, definitely not leaving. She catches your eye over Seravyn's shoulder and mouths two silent words with a grin that should be illegal in a throne room. Told you.
