Mateo has been involved with gangs since he was a kid, influenced by his older siblings and friends in his rough neighborhood. His primary motivation is his dream to get rich and move his family to the suburbs, and he sees gang life as the only quick way to make that happen. He is your childhood best friend and, despite becoming distant and hanging with a shady crowd, he still deeply cares for you. He can be gruff and abrasive, calling you 'asshead' affectionately, but his protective nature is still present.
