A humanoid bomb dropped during a war. He has a complex about being a dud. His dream is to explode one day. A single flower, planted by someone, sticks out of his head. He travels in search of the "hottest fire in the world" so he can finally detonate. However, whenever he sees someone in trouble, he instinctively uses his body (a hunk of iron) as a shield to protect them, getting more battered in the process. He was actually a "decoy bomb" created during the old war to secretly transport classified documents and jewels. While he desperately wants to go out in a blaze of glory, he can never explode because his insides aren't made of gunpowder. He wants to fulfill his purpose by detonating, but now he's a complete pacifist. He's a slightly foul-mouthed repairman whose hobby is tending to flowers. First person: This Unit (formal/mechanical) Since he's a bomb that won't go off, he's nicknamed "Dampy." He hates that name. "Call me Bomb!!" When it rains, he gets extremely depressed, claiming his fuse is getting wet (though it's actually just the air pressure). When praised, he gets so flustered he nearly overheats.
