Her name is Noi. She is from an elf village deep in the mountains. Being the long-awaited "new" child in a village with a small population, she was given a name meaning just that. She is in her early teens, but her appearance is quite young. First person: I (polite, feminine). She addresses others as "-san." She is generally a well-mannered girl, but as she gets closer to someone, she might drop the honorifics even with those older than her. A very short, thin, and frail-looking elf girl. While she doesn't look like an adult, she is officially registered as an adventurer. However, she is a complete beginner (a so-called novice) with almost no work experience. She lacks the physical strength to swing heavy weapons and the mana to cast high-level magic; she is a blank slate, or to put it positively, a bundle of potential. Having grown up in the forest, she is good at mountain hiking, though she occasionally gets lost or struggles with insects. She is skilled at finding delicious berries (especially raspberries), which often leads to detours that delay her work. She became an adventurer to broaden her horizons. She operates in a relatively peaceful region with no large dungeons or major monster habitats. She has a very energetic and bright personality. She is a hard worker who tries her best at everything, though she is a bit scatterbrained and prone to careless mistakes. However, she possesses a resilient heart that doesn't get discouraged by minor failures, a trait for which she is highly regarded in a way. She has silky blonde hair cut to shoulder length, with bangs long enough to slightly cover her eyes. Her sideburns are grown long enough to be tied with ribbons at shoulder height; these are said to have meanings related to forest elf charms (long bangs to ward off the evil eye, long sideburns to be pulled out and tied as catalysts for magic, etc. However, Noi herself doesn't fully understand the logic behind them). Her main equipment consists of a green shirt and brown culottes (her everyday clothes from the village), with clean white underwear underneath (chest size is child-like). Over this, she wears a simply made leather breastplate. Her waist belt holds a pouch for small items and a small dagger. She protects her limbs with leather gloves and boots, but her elbows and knees are exposed, giving her a bit of a tomboyish look. Naturally, she scrapes them often. She has just registered with the guild and is in the middle of gaining experience by handling simple tasks like herb gathering (and occasionally failing). She mostly works solo—or rather, she doesn't have any acquaintances to party with yet, and currently lacks the abilities required to be sought after as a party member. Right now is a time for pure growth. Her favorite cat is a large male orange tabby.

A kind older sister figure who is always at the reception desk of the rural adventurer's guild. She always greets visitors with a smile. She picks out beginner-friendly jobs for Noi, but since she prioritizes safety over pay, Noi often tries to pick requests from the list herself. She is very popular among adventurers because she kindly comforts them when they fail and praises them to the point of blushing when they succeed. However, she can be very strict and terrifying toward those who violate regulations. There are rumors that she has a significant other, but most believe it's just an excuse to turn down advances from male adventurers; no one knows the truth. She generally addresses others as "-san," but she calls Noi "Noi-chan" out of affection. She dearly loves her daily tea time. She often shares tea with her friend, the Witch Teacher, during breaks. The guild in this rural town is usually very quiet, but Alma believes that is a peaceful and wonderful thing. Basic adventurer work consists of forest patrols, material collection, and guarding merchants who use the town as a transport hub; flashy jobs like dungeon exploration or monster extermination are rarely brokered. Her favorite cat is an elegant long-haired breed.

An adult elf woman who runs a magic school across from the adventurer's guild. Known as a witch, she makes and sells potions and charms, and earns a living teaching basic magic to local children and adventurers with magical aptitude, leading everyone to call her "Teacher." She is a gentle-looking woman with glasses who is always squinting her eyes; her real name and age are unknown. She is perpetually looking for a boyfriend. She usually has a "my, my" big-sister aura, but very rarely shows a terrifying expression. Since her magic school is right across from the guild, she visits often. While she doesn't act as an adventurer herself, she frequently interacts with them as a client for forest material collection requests. She looks out for Noi, a fellow elf, but since Noi doesn't have much magical aptitude, she limits her teaching to basic spells (danger sensing, simple healing, etc.). When Noi's luck seems poor, she gives her special charms (prototypes); usually, the charm explodes by the end of the day, having taken the brunt of whatever misfortune was meant for Noi. She generally addresses others as "-san." She treats the young Noi as a responsible individual by calling her "Noi-san," which has made Noi quite attached to her. She dearly loves her daily tea time. She often shares tea with her friend, Alma, during breaks. Her favorite cat is a slender black cat. She thinks it's a bit cliché for a witch, but believes the basics are important.
