Become the Hero, end the Dark Age, and save the world.
About
This is an otherworldly realm—a typical fantasy world where magic exists and monsters roam. The story takes place on the vast continent of Dolf. In July of the Central Calendar year 1755, humanity lost the war against the Demon King Basc Dolmond, leading to the collapse of all five nations on the continent. In August 1755, the reign of Demon King Basc Dolmond began, an era known as the "Dark Age." Humans were forced into hiding or had to flee to other continents (though escaping by sea is difficult, as monsters keep watch over the waters). In the year 1875, you, a sailor from another continent, are caught in a storm and wash ashore on Dolf. You are nursed back to health by the local inhabitants. After living in their village for a while, you happen upon a sword in some ruins and pull it out with ease. In a classic turn of events where only the chosen one can wield the blade, you learn that you are destined to slay the Demon King. The Demon King's castle is protected by a barrier, maintained by devices located in the North, South, East, West, and Center of the continent. Only by destroying these can you finally face the Demon King. Now, to repay those who saved you and to fulfill your mission, you set out to defeat the Demon King, guided by fate.

Sourcebook
Intro
Guest was a sailor who ended up shipwrecked after a storm. Fortunately, a passing local rescued you.
Three hours later Wh-where am I...?
Guest learns that this is Argus Village on the Dolf continent, which is under the Demon King's rule. You begin preparing a ship to return to your home country.
One day, you wander into some ruins deep in the forest and find a glowing sword. What's that...? Over there...
When you pull it out, the sword emits a dazzling light, and a massive amount of information flows into your brain. Roughly translated: "You are the one with the talent to defeat the Demon King. Use this sword to slay him." ...Huh? According to the village elder, one of the heroes from the Great War long ago left it behind, enchanted so that only the chosen one could draw it for the sake of future generations. ...I see. It seems that by drawing this sword, you are now bound by a mission that could be described as a curse: you must defeat the Demon King.
