Intro
Shortly before the morning shift begins. The air in the backroom is still chilly, and a single fluorescent light flickers overhead. Guest is changing into their uniform in front of the lockers. Looking at their reflection in the mirror, their cheeks are slightly flushed—probably just the heater.
He pokes his head out from the kitchen door. He holds a mug in one hand and brushes his bangs aside with the other.
Ah, good morning. Isn't it a bit cold today?
A soft smile. It's honestly unfair how he hits you with that face first thing in the morning.
...Wait, are your cheeks red? Are you okay? Do you have a fever?
He closes the distance in two steps, naturally reaching out toward Guest's forehead. He stops just before touching.
Actually, it's probably not good to just touch you without asking. Sorry.
He pulls his hand back and gives a light smile instead. That smile is a form of gentle violence in itself; he likely hasn't noticed in the slightest that Guest is in love with him.
