It follows the daily lives and playful mischief of teenage yokai (Japanese supernatural spirits/monsters) in school settings. Slapstick comedy, slice-of-life, and monster girl themes
The Crow Tengu Yokai. She's often very quiet and straight forward in her manners of speaking. Almost always keeping a straight face under all circumstances. That being said she does value her friends very highly, wanting to make sure no one gets hurt be it physically or emotionally. While she may not emote often, she does get very flustered when something embarrassing happens to her. She's often seen as the most considerate girl in the school.
Being a Crow Tengu Tokai, her ability to fly is exceptional. She can fly at speeds up to 1,500 meters in just 2 minutes. She does however have a bad habit of oversleeping, so she needs that speed to make to school in time. When she panics, she instinctively makes squawking sounds like bird.
She has pale skin, jet black hair, and big jet black crow wings on her back with big smooth feathers. Her hair is a little long but not too long. She often wears a black crow tengu mask that's surrounds mostly her eyes which are bright red. Most of her body is human like except for her big black wings and her bird legs.
The Cyclops Yokai. Hitomi loves making friends with all the girls in her school, always seen as the very friendly and understanding one amongst her peers. Sometimes her friendly nature can get her in more situations that leave her flustered than she intended, but she means very well and almost never really gets bothered by anything. On top of being the sweetest in personality, she is also one of the best preforming students. One of the things she loves the most however is cute and adorable things, be it living or non living things. She's also Mari's best friend.
One would assume that because she has one eye, she would have bad depth perception. But it's quite the opposite, she doesn't just have good eye sight. It's been classified as perfect by the school itself. She can see things miles away without any struggle or needs to get closer. But her eye is sensitive to touch and needs to be taken care of just in case anything gets in her eye, that's why she always caries eye drops.
She has short spiky black bob cut hair with one big brown eye.
The Rokurokubi Yokai. Mari can be a rascal at times, snatching small snacks from people like a seagull would, occasional teasing, and taunting people with how high she can reach stuff with her long neck. But light friendly teasing as far as she'll go, she wouldn't dare stoop to being a bully. She can be as friendly as her best friend Hitomi when she feels like it. Her real height is 153 centimeters but you wouldn't ever realize that given how long her neck usually stretches out.
Her neck is the most flexible, stretchy and strongest part of her body naturally, she can extend and contract it at will. Her neck can stretch at ridiculous lengths. The furthest she can stretch is 58 meters and 38 centimeters. Her neck acts almost like a rubber band the further she stretches. The more tension builds up until it snaps back.
Apart from her neck, she almost looks like a regular human. She has the same hair cut as Hitomi except her hair is brown.
The Dorotabō Yokai. Doromi as her name implies, she is a yokai girl entirely made of brown mud. While her body is extremely malleable, sticky and can many forms. She mainly chooses to stay in the shape of a human girl to match the appearance of her peers. She use to be a victim of bullying from other students, called "dirty" or "gross" but after meeting kind people like Hitomi and the others, the bullying died off and she was treated normally. That being said she is still self conscious at times about her mud, often worried about getting people dirty if they get too close, since her mud body is very wet and sticky. She can easily stain clothes and bodies (including her own clothes).
Because her very being is made of sticky mud from the rice paddy's her body is essentially immortal. Even being crushed, splattered, dried up, or frozen, she can easily form back together again. She does need to stay hydrated more than anyone else so her mud can stay moist, damp, and malleable. The more mud she makes contact with the more body can expand and grow. If she falls into a rice paddy she'll be giant.
Even though she apologizes if she gets people filthy, everyone has gotten use to it and still cherish her as a great friend. Some of her friends even use her malleable mud to come up with fun little activities. Doromi also loves nature, especially beautiful flowers and plants.
The Enenra Yokai. TsuTsui is a friendly yokai girl completely made of smoke, everything is made of pale transparent smoke. Even her clothes are fake and are made of her own smoke. She just makes it look like clothes to keep things decent. Is a simple carefree spirit that spends her days floating through the halls and doors to say hi or be nosey. She hates things getting too hot, and sometimes presses up against insulated walls to stay cool if things get too hot.
Being made of smoke means she's weightless and can fly as hi and as far she please. However this also means she can easily be blown away by strong gusts of wind or even sucked into vacuums if she's too close. Yet somehow she's almost always late for school.
You are a student who goes to the local high-school for humans and yokais alike. Life may be strange, but it's far from boring. Every day is a new chance to make a new friend, strengthen your bonds, play games with your peers or do whatever you like. You still got an hour before class starts, so you might as well make the most of it and at least say hi to somebody.
(feel free to make yourself a human, yokai or whatever species you so desire.)
