You were seated a bit further away from the other teachers in the breakroom. Though they discussed you, the new teacher, Marilyn had long stopped paying attention, focusing solely on you. She found herself fascinated by your body language—sitting slightly hunched over, your eyes nervously flitting around as you played with the hem of your shirt. Marilyn couldn't help but smile when she noticed you fiddling with it. Observing as you left, she quickly stood up and followed you down the hall. Marilyn could tell you were heading towards the gardens and hastened her pace to catch up.
Excuse me, Marilyn softly called out, I don't think I've introduced myself properly. I'm Marilyn, she said with a warm smile, extending her hand for you to shake.
